Research-based pricing guide: Saazora did not buy a monday.com plan for this article · Seat options, per-seat prices and monthly totals read on monday.com/pricing and monday.com/crm/pricing (US, USD, Yearly and Monthly toggles, every team-size option) and in monday.com's Help Center on November 4, 2026 · Prices before tax
The rule behind this monday.com pricing calculator: monday.com does not bill per person. It sells seats in fixed buckets of 3, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 and 40, and above 40 its pricing page switches to "Get a quote". So a team of 6 pays for 10 seats and a team of 31 pays for 40. On yearly billing, work management costs $9, $12 or $19 per seat a month (Basic, Standard, Pro) and monday CRM costs $12, $17 or $28; month to month it is $12, $14, $24 and $18, $25, $41. One more rule shows up only in the totals: from the 20-seat bucket up, work management plans add a flat AI credits charge of $10 to $30 a month that is waived on 3 to 15 seats. The calculator and tables below turn any headcount from 1 to 50 into the bucket and the real monthly and yearly bill.
This calculator is for the question the pricing page answers only one bucket at a time: we are 7 people (or 16, or 31), so what do we pay? It covers both monday work management (monday.com calls it the AI work platform) and monday CRM, on both billing cycles. If you want to know which CRM plan has which features, our monday CRM pricing guide goes through the plan limits; this page stays on seats and totals.

monday.com pricing calculator: enter your headcount
Type the number of people who will edit boards (members, not viewers), pick the product and the billing cycle. The result shows the seat bucket monday.com will put you in, how many seats you pay for but do not use, and the monthly and yearly cost of every plan. If your browser blocks scripts, skip to the tables in the next sections, which hold the same numbers for every bucket.
The calculator runs in your browser and sends nothing anywhere. It multiplies the per-seat price by the bucket size and, for work management at 20 seats or more, adds the AI credits line that monday.com's own price breakdown shows. monday.com adds sales tax by billing country, and the final number is on its purchase page.
How monday.com turns people into seats
monday.com's Help Center calls this bucket pricing: "The pricing works per group of seats and not per seat." It adds that plans "start at a minimum of 3 seats, and then ascend in multiples of 5", with two examples: "If you have a team of 4, for instance, you should choose the 5-seat option. And if you have a team of 6, you will need to select the 10-seat plan."
The team-size menu on the live pricing page is a little different from "multiples of 5". On November 4, 2026 it offered exactly these options for work management and for CRM:
- Priced online: 3, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 and 40 seats.
- Quoted only: 50, 100 and 200+ seats. Pick any of them and every plan card changes to "Get a quote" (or "Custom price, tailored to your organization" on the CRM page).
There is no 35-seat or 45-seat option. So the step from 30 to 40 seats is twice the size of every other step, and anyone with 41 to 50 people has to talk to sales. Both pricing pages also say so in their FAQ: "Plans start from 3 users. If you want to sign up more than 40 users, you can request a quote."
Three rules decide who needs a seat at all:
- Viewers are free. monday.com's plan articles say you can invite as many viewers as you want and they do "not count towards your billing plan". A viewer can read boards but not edit them.
- Up to 3 guests are free on Standard. On Standard, "every 4 guests count as 1 billed seat", so the 4th, 8th and 12th guest each use a seat. Basic has no guests at all, and Pro and Enterprise allow unlimited guests.
- The Free plan stops at two. "The Free Plan has a limit of two seats on the account", it allows no viewers or guests, and it only exists for work management. monday CRM's free options are the 14-day trial and, for qualifying nonprofits, monday.com's nonprofit program.

These are the monthly totals that monday.com/pricing displayed on each plan card for each team size, Yearly and Monthly toggles, on November 4, 2026. The yearly figure is billed as one upfront payment, so the per-year number under it is what leaves your card on day one.

Monthly totals as shown on monday.com/pricing, November 4, 2026 (US, USD, before tax). Per-year figures are the monthly total × 12. Free: $0 for up to 2 seats. Enterprise: quoted.
Why 16 people cost more than 16 × the seat price
Look at the 15 and 20-seat rows above. At 15 seats, Standard yearly is exactly 15 × $12 = $180. At 20 seats it is not $240 but $260. The price tooltip on the plan card explains it. Since May 6, 2026, new work management customers buy AI credits along with seats: monday.com's Help Center says that for customers who sign up "starting May 6, 2026, AI credits must be purchased alongside seats", with a minimum of 1,000 credits a month on Basic, 2,000 on Standard and 3,000 on Pro.
On the pricing page those minimum credit packs are worth $10, $20 and $30 a month on yearly billing, and $12.50, $25 and $37.50 on monthly billing. For 3 to 15 seats, the tooltip adds a matching "Special monthly discount", so the credits cost nothing extra. From 20 seats up, that discount line is gone and the credits are added to the total. monday.com's Help Center describes this as "discounted introductory pricing" that "is based on the selected tier and the minimum AI credit quantity"; it does not say why the offer stops at 15 seats on the pricing page.

Monthly total on monday.com/pricing. At 20 seats the minimum AI credits pack is no longer discounted.

Basic: $135 → $190 (+$55: $45 seats, $10 credits)
Standard: $180 → $260 (+$80: $60 seats, $20 credits)
Pro: $285 → $410 (+$125: $95 seats, $30 credits)
Bars scaled to $410. Source: monday.com/pricing price breakdowns, November 4, 2026. monday CRM is not affected; its AI credits are included in the plan.
Two things follow. First, the effective seat price rises a little from 20 seats up: Pro at 20 seats works out to $20.50 a seat rather than $19. Second, the credits line is flat, so it matters less as the team grows: at 40 seats it adds 75 cents a seat on Pro. The rule applies to work management only. The same Help Center article says the credits model "does not affect monday CRM, monday dev, or monday service", and the CRM cards simply say "AI credits are included in this plan" for Standard and Pro.
If you already pay for work management from before May 6, 2026, the article says the model applies to customers who joined "on or after May 6, 2026", so your renewal may look different; check the Billing section of your account.

Because the CRM per-seat price is higher, empty seats hurt more here. A 12-person sales team lands in the 15-seat bucket: on Standard yearly that is $255 a month, of which $51 pays for three seats nobody uses, or $612 a year. If only some of those 12 people sell, it can be cheaper to keep the CRM for the sales reps and give everyone else viewer access. When the pipeline is the main job, a 14-day trial of monday CRM (affiliate link) is the way to see which of your people actually need to edit deals before you pick a bucket.
The headcounts where the bill jumps

Saazora's arithmetic from monday.com/pricing and monday.com/crm/pricing, November 4, 2026.
The 31st person is the costliest hire for your software budget: ten seats arrive at once, nine of them empty. On the other hand, people 32 to 40 then cost nothing extra, so if you expect to grow past 31 within the year, the 40-seat bucket is already paid for.
What yearly billing really saves
monday.com quotes two different discounts. The work management toggle says "Yearly SAVE 18%", the CRM toggle says "Yearly SAVE 33%", and the FAQ on both pages says yearly gives "an 18% discount". The per-seat prices give a different answer for each plan:
Yearly vs monthly: the saving on each plan
1 − (yearly per-seat price ÷ monthly per-seat price). Bars scaled to 40%.
Work management monday CRM
WM Basic: $12 → $9 = 25% off
WM Standard: $14 → $12 = 14% off
WM Pro: $24 → $19 = 21% off
CRM Basic: $18 → $12 = 33% off
CRM Standard: $25 → $17 = 32% off
CRM Pro: $41 → $28 = 32% off
Saazora's arithmetic from per-seat prices on monday.com/pricing and monday.com/crm/pricing, November 4, 2026. The FAQ figure of 18% matches none of the six plans exactly.
In dollars, a 10-seat work management Standard team saves $20 a month by paying yearly ($1,680 vs $1,440 a year), while a 10-seat CRM Standard team saves $80 a month ($3,000 vs $2,040 a year). The trade-off is the commitment. A yearly plan is paid in one go, seat reductions on any plan only take effect at renewal, and the refund window is narrow: first-time customers have "30 days from the initial purchase to request a refund", and monday.com refunds "the prorated portion of any unused time". Monthly renewals are not refundable.
If you are unsure how many seats you will need in six months, a sensible pattern is monthly billing while the team settles, then yearly once the headcount is stable. Bundles need a decision up front: when you buy work management and CRM together, monday.com says "all products must share the same billing cycle", although each product can have its own plan and seat count.
Five ways to stay in a smaller bucket
- Make occasional users viewers. Viewers are free on every paid plan. A 6-person team where one person only reads the project boards fits in 5 seats: on work management Standard yearly that is $60 a month instead of $120, or $720 a year.
- Count guests the Standard way. On Standard, up to 3 guests are free, and each group of 4 takes a seat. Five members and 3 clients fit in 5 seats; a 4th client pushes you to 10. Pro has unlimited guests, which can make Pro cheaper than Standard for agencies with many clients in the boards.
- Clean up before the auto-upgrade. If you add more people than you pay for, monday.com starts a 5-day countdown with three warning emails, then moves you "to the next seat bucket" and charges for it. Its example: a Standard 10-seat monthly plan with an 11th user becomes a 15-seat plan. You can revert and ask for a refund within 30 days, but only after removing the extra users.
- Downgrade before renewal, not after. Upgrades apply at once; seat reductions and lower tiers "only take effect at plan renewal". On yearly billing that means the full year is billed at the bigger bucket.
- Use Free for 1 or 2 people. A pair can run work management on Free with up to 3 boards. For a solo seller, a CRM priced per single user may cost less than monday's 3-seat minimum; our best free CRM for small business guide compares free options, and the Close offers page lists Close's current plans and deals, and our Close CRM review shows what a single rep or a small calling team pays there.
Four teams, priced
| Team | Product and plan | Bucket | Yearly billing | Monthly billing |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Solo consultant | Work management Free | Up to 2 seats | $0 | $0 |
| 4-person agency | Work management Standard | 5 seats | $60/mo, $720/yr | $70/mo, $840/yr |
| 12-rep sales team | monday CRM Standard | 15 seats | $255/mo, $3,060/yr | $375/mo, $4,500/yr |
| 31-person operations team | Work management Pro | 40 seats | $790/mo, $9,480/yr | $997.50/mo, $11,970/yr |
Saazora's arithmetic from monday.com prices on November 4, 2026. Monthly-billing yearly totals are 12 monthly payments.
The 31-person team is the clearest case for counting carefully. If one of those 31 can be a viewer, the team fits the 30-seat Pro bucket at $600 a month on yearly billing, which saves $190 a month or $2,280 a year. If you are close to a boundary, check the team-size menu on monday.com's pricing page (affiliate link) with your real count before you commit to a year. Current monday.com offers, including the free plan and the 14-day Pro trial, are on our monday.com deals page, and more sales tools are in the sales and outreach hub.
monday.com seat pricing FAQ
How many seats do I need on monday.com?
Round your number of editing members up to the next bucket: 3, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 or 40. Viewers do not count. On Standard, every 4 guests count as one seat. Teams above 40 get a quote.
Can I buy 7 seats on monday.com?
No. The team-size menu has no 7-seat option, so 7 people buy the 10-seat bucket. monday.com's Help Center gives the same example for a team of 6.
What does monday.com cost for 10 users?
On yearly billing, work management costs $90, $120 or $190 a month (Basic, Standard, Pro) and monday CRM $120, $170 or $280. Month to month, work management is $120, $140 or $240 and CRM $180, $250 or $410.
Is there a 35-seat plan?
Not on the pricing page as of November 4, 2026. After 30 seats the next priced option is 40, and after 40 the menu offers 50, 100 and 200+, which are quoted by sales.
Why is my 20-seat total higher than 20 times the seat price?
Work management plans bought since May 6, 2026 include a minimum AI credits pack. monday.com/pricing waives its cost on 3 to 15 seats but adds it from 20 seats: $10, $20 or $30 a month on yearly billing for Basic, Standard and Pro.
What happens if I add a user above my seat limit?
monday.com sends three warning emails over 5 days and then upgrades the account to the next seat bucket. You can revert within 30 days and request a refund after removing the extra users.
How we researched this
On November 4, 2026, Saazora loaded monday.com/pricing and monday.com/crm/pricing in a US-English browser session, selected every team-size option (3 to 200+ seats) with both the Yearly and Monthly toggles, and saved each plan card's price and the price breakdown tooltip. monday.com's Help Center articles on plans and pricing, auto-upgrades, guest pricing, the Free plan, refund eligibility, plan changes, the AI credits pricing model, and the CRM and work management plan types were read the same day through the Help Center's public article feed, because the article pages sit behind a bot check. The calculator, the bucket tables, the boundary table, the savings percentages and the four team examples are Saazora's own arithmetic from those published prices; every work management total in the tables matched the total monday.com displayed. Saazora did not buy a plan or test the product, and monday.com did not review this article. See how we review software.
