Short answer: RocketReach is a legitimate, widely used contact database, and it is accurate enough for most US sales prospecting if you only bulk-send to its A-grade emails, which it says deliver about 98% of the time. Accuracy drops for lower-grade emails, phone numbers, smaller companies and contacts outside the US. Users are split: RocketReach scores 4.4 out of 5 on G2 from more than 1,300 reviews, but 1.2 on Trustpilot, where most complaints are about billing rather than data.

What RocketReach claims about accuracy

RocketReach says its database covers more than 700 million professionals, refreshes about 85 million profiles every month and draws on more than a dozen data sources. Its help center makes these specific claims:

  • A-grade emails: about 98% deliverability. RocketReach's own definition of A is "multiple tests confirm this is a working inbox."
  • All green (verified) emails: about 90% successful delivery.
  • Typical fill rates: 85% or more for emails and 60% or more for direct phone numbers.
  • Charging: a lookup credit is used only when a verified email or phone is returned.

RocketReach also admits that "100% accuracy is not possible" and that about 3% of contacts go out of date every month as people change jobs. That decay rate is the most useful number on the page: a list that was accurate in January will be noticeably worse by spring.

What independent data shows

We could not find a neutral, published bounce-rate test of RocketReach from 2024 to 2026. The largest dataset that includes it comes from Pin, a recruiting platform that competes in the same space. Across more than 1.3 million lookups between March and May 2026, RocketReach returned an email for 29.8% of searches, against 55.2% for the best tool in that test. That measures how often an email is found, not whether it bounces, and recruiting lookups skew toward individual candidates rather than sales targets.

Other estimates come from competitors without a published method, ranging from 70% to 90% email accuracy and 55% to 70% for phones. Treat them as rough signals. The safest conclusion: RocketReach's best-graded data is reliable, but its coverage is narrower than its database size suggests.

RocketReach reviews: what users report

RocketReach ratings October 2026: G2 4.4 from 1,385 reviews, Capterra 4.1 from 140, Trustpilot 1.2 from 1,110
Business users on G2 and Capterra rate it well; Trustpilot reflects billing disputes.
  • G2, 4.4 from 1,385 reviews: praise for the browser extension, speed and US coverage. The most common negative tags are inaccurate data, outdated contacts and missing information.
  • Capterra, 4.1 from 140 reviews: similar themes, including verified emails that still bounce and contacts who have changed jobs.
  • Trustpilot, 1.2 from 1,110 reviews: dominated by surprise auto-renewals, refused refunds and slow support, plus some people asking to have their own data removed.

The billing complaints matter as much as the data ones. RocketReach's refund policy says payments are non-refundable once a subscription has started, plans renew automatically, and unused credits expire when you cancel. Set a calendar reminder before any renewal date.

How to get more accurate results from RocketReach

Five ways to reduce email bounces when using RocketReach or any email finder
These habits keep hard bounces under the 2% to 3% level that triggers spam filters.
  1. Filter by grade before sending. Use RocketReach's minimum-grade filter and bulk-send only to A-grade emails. Keep A- and B for one-to-one messages.
  2. Treat catch-all domains carefully. A verifier cannot confirm an inbox on a domain that accepts all mail, so send to those in small batches.
  3. Re-verify old lists. With roughly 3% of contacts going stale each month, re-check any list older than 30 days.
  4. Keep hard bounces under 2%. RocketReach warns that 2% to 3% bounces risk spam flags on your domain.
  5. Use a second source for gaps. Running misses through another finder, such as FullEnrich, which checks 25+ data providers in sequence, raises total coverage.

Is RocketReach accurate? FAQ

How accurate are RocketReach emails?

RocketReach says A-grade emails deliver about 98% of the time and all verified emails about 90%. Independent tests mostly measure how often it finds an email, which was about 30% in one large 2026 recruiting dataset.

Are RocketReach phone numbers accurate?

Less than its emails. RocketReach reports 60%+ direct-phone fill rates, and third-party estimates put phone accuracy around 55% to 70%. Phone data needs the Pro plan or higher.

Why do RocketReach emails bounce?

Usually because the person changed jobs, the email was a lower grade, or the company uses a catch-all domain. Sending only A-grade emails and re-verifying older lists avoids most bounces.

Is RocketReach legit?

Yes. RocketReach is an established company with more than 26 million users and over 1,300 reviews on G2. Most negative reviews concern auto-renewal and refunds rather than fraud, so read the billing terms before buying.

Can I get a refund from RocketReach?

RocketReach's policy says subscriptions are non-refundable once started and renew automatically, so cancel before the renewal date if you do not want to continue.

The best test is your own target list. Run free lookups on RocketReach against 10 contacts you already know, and check how many emails and grades match before you pay.
