Research-based pricing guide: Saazora did not buy a Softr plan for this article · Prices, user allowances and billing rules read in Softr's pricing documentation, AI credits and workflows docs, Softr's own blog and its August 2026 community announcement on November 4, 2026 · Prices in US dollars, before tax
Softr pricing in 2026 has five tiers: Free at $0, Basic at $19 a month, Pro at $99 and Business at $329 when billed yearly ($25, $119 and $395 month to month), plus Enterprise at a custom price. The plan fee is only half of the bill. Since August 5, 2026, each paid plan includes a set number of team users and client users, and on Pro and Business every extra login is billed monthly at $1 to $5. That makes Pro the cheapest plan for almost any client portal up to 250 clients, and it creates one sharp cliff: on our arithmetic, a portal with 5 staff and 250 clients costs $299 a month on Pro, but the 251st client forces Business at $631. Business is never a volume discount; within Pro's caps it always costs at least $120 a month more, so you buy it for its limits and features, not to save money.
Softr is a no-code builder for client portals, internal tools and dashboards on top of Softr Databases, Airtable, Google Sheets and other data sources. This guide covers what each Softr plan includes, how the team and client user meter works, what five realistic set-ups cost per month and per year, the add-ons (builders, domains, AI credits), and the discount, trial and refund rules. If you only want to know how far the $0 plan goes, our Softr free plan limits guide covers that in detail, so this page keeps the Free tier brief.

Softr describes the tiers by who they are for: Free for "Exploring what Softr can do", Basic for "Individuals powering work productivity", Pro for "Small teams building operational tools" and Business for "Companies building advanced systems at scale". In practice, the paid plans differ on five things:
- Logins. The user allowances in the table above are the line most teams hit first, and the only one with pay-as-you-go overage, which starts on Pro.
- Data and automation. Softr's own pricing comparison lists 50K records and 2.5K workflow actions a month on Basic, 500K and 10K on Pro, and 1M and 25K on Business. Only actions count: "Triggers and flow control steps (like Wait, Branch, Filter, and Bulk actions) don't count toward usage", and when you run out, "your workflows are paused until the limit renews or you upgrade your workspace."
- AI credits. 10 a month on Basic, 50 on Pro and 100 on Business. Plan credits reset monthly; add-on credits "roll over for one month if unused". Softr says usage depends on "the model, task type, and size of the input/output", and its docs do not publish a per-action credit cost or a public price for credit packs.
- Branding and permissions. Softr's white-label page says you can "remove all Softr branding (on the Professional plan and above)". Pro includes 3 custom user groups and Business 10, which matters for portals where different clients must see different records.
- Enterprise-only items. SSO, SCIM, audit logs, SOC 2 access, custom limits, the Snowflake and BigQuery connectors, and paying by invoice (PO, wire transfer or ACH). Basic to Business are paid by credit card.

How Softr counts and bills app users
The user meter is the part of Softr pricing most guides skip, and it decides your real monthly cost. These are the rules in Softr's documentation:
- Who is an app user. "App users are the people who log in to and use your published apps." Visitors to public pages are not logins. "The same email across multiple apps is counted only once", and "Deactivated users don't count toward your allowance." Builders in your workspace can be added as app users "without using up any app-user allowance."
- Team or client is decided by email domain, not by role. A team user is one "whose email uses the same business domain as any workspace member"; a client user is "Everyone else". Softr adds that "All free email domains such as Gmail are counted as Client users."
- Counting is daily, with a grace period. "Your workspace's user count is checked once a day", and going over the allowance starts "a 7-day grace period before any charge".
- Extras are billed monthly on every plan. "Extra users are billed monthly, even if your base plan is billed annually." So a yearly Pro plan still produces a monthly overage charge.
- No refunds for a drop mid-cycle. If your headcount falls, Softr says "we don't refund mid-cycle — the allowance stays available until your next renewal", and "unused packs are removed automatically from the new bill."
- The max is a hard ceiling. Past a plan's maximum (50 team or 250 client on Pro), "additional users can still be created but are kept deactivated until you free up space or move to a higher plan."
- A failed overage payment switches users off. If an extra-user charge fails and stays unpaid after the grace period, "all extra users (beyond the plan's included allowance) are deactivated."
- Free and Basic cannot grow. "On the Free and Basic plans there is no app-user add-on — you're capped at the included allowance."
Two consequences follow. First, on Pro a team user overage costs three times a client one ($3 against $1), so a staff tool where everyone signs in with a company address costs more than the same tool for outside clients. Second, an internal tool used by staff with Gmail or Outlook addresses is billed as client users, which on Pro means 50 included logins rather than 10. That is how Softr's rules read; it is not a loophole we recommend building a business around, because Softr can change the definition and the cheapest plan should not depend on which email provider your staff use.
What Softr costs in five real set-ups
We priced five common Softr use cases from the published rates, choosing the cheapest plan that fits each one. All figures assume yearly billing for the base plan; extra users and builders are added at the rates in Softr's docs. Softr's app-user calculator shows the same extra-user rates whether the base plan is billed monthly or yearly, so we apply them as listed. This is Saazora's arithmetic, not a Softr quote.
| Set-up | Builders · team · client users | Cheapest plan that fits | Per month | Per year |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Freelancer portal on own domain | 1 · 1 · 4 | Basic | $19 | $228 |
| Small agency client portal | 2 · 6 · 80 | Pro ($99 + 30 clients × $1) | $129 | $1,548 |
| Internal ops tool, company emails | 2 · 45 · 0 | Pro ($99 + 35 team × $3) | $204 | $2,448 |
| Growing portal near Pro's cap | 3 · 12 · 240 | Pro ($99 + 1 builder $10 + 2 team × $3 + 190 clients × $1) | $305 | $3,660 |
| Large member or partner portal | 4 · 60 · 400 | Business ($329 + 1 builder $20 + 30 team × $5 + 300 clients × $2) | $1,099 | $13,188 |
The same internal ops tool on Business would cost $404 a month ($329 plus 15 team users at $5), and the growing portal would cost $609. In both cases Pro is roughly half the price. The freelancer set-up only fits Basic while the portal stays at five clients, because Basic has no user add-on; a sixth client means Pro.
Check the other meters too. A portal with 400 clients that each update records through forms can run through 10K workflow actions on Pro long before it runs out of logins, and an email step "may use more than one execution". If your workflows are busy, estimate actions per user per month before you pick a plan.

Saazora's arithmetic from Softr's pricing and plans docs, November 4, 2026. Excludes extra builders, domains, AI credits and tax.
Three findings come out of this curve:
- Pro to Business is a cliff, not a step. Going from 250 to 251 clients moves a 5-staff portal from $299 to $631 a month, an extra $3,984 a year for one login. If you are at 230 clients and growing, plan the switch, or trim inactive accounts, since deactivated users stop counting.
- Business never undercuts Pro on users alone. We checked every combination inside Pro's caps (0 to 50 team users and 0 to 250 client users). The smallest gap is $120 a month, at 30 team and 100 client users ($209 on Pro against $329 on Business). Choose Business when you need its caps, its 1M records and 25K actions, or its features, not as a bulk deal.
- Above 500 clients you are in Enterprise territory. Business stops at 100 team and 500 client users. Softr lists Enterprise limits as custom, so the price past that point is a sales conversation.
Monthly versus yearly billing, and the add-ons
One year of each Softr base plan: monthly versus yearly billing
Base plan only, before extra users, builders, domains or AI credits
Basic: save $72 a year
$300 · $228
Pro: save $240 a year
$1,428 · $1,188
Business: save $792 a year
$4,740 · $3,948
Saazora's arithmetic: 12 × monthly price versus 12 × yearly-billed monthly price, from Softr's pricing and plans docs, November 4, 2026.
Softr says yearly billing "gives you roughly two months free"; on the listed prices that is exactly true for Pro and Business and slightly better on Basic. Yearly billing "is paid upfront for 12 months", and you can switch with "the toggle in the plan selection modal". Paying yearly makes sense once your plan choice is stable: with the 30-day refund window on a first yearly payment (below), the risk is mostly about picking the wrong tier, not about losing the money outright.
The add-ons that can grow a Softr bill:
| Add-on | Basic | Pro | Business |
|---|---|---|---|
| Extra builder (yearly / monthly billing) | $5 / $6 | $10 / $12 | $20 / $24 |
| Extra team user, billed monthly | Not available | $3 | $5 |
| Extra client user, billed monthly | Not available | $1 | $2 |
| Extra custom domain (1 included on every paid plan) | $13/mo billed yearly or $15/mo billed monthly, each | ||
| Extra AI credits | Sold as add-ons; Softr's docs give no public pack price | ||
Builders are cheap next to users: a third builder on Pro adds $120 a year, while 120 extra client logins add $1,440. Count logins first, builders second.
Discounts, trial and refund terms
- Nonprofit and education: 50% off. Softr says "we offer a 50% non-profit and education discount", applied through a form. Its August 2026 announcement raised it "from 30% to 50%". Half of Pro's yearly price works out to $49.50 a month on our arithmetic; Softr's docs do not say whether the discount also covers extra-user charges, so ask before you count on it.
- Promo codes go in before you pay. "Make sure to enter the promo code before clicking Subscribe"; "Codes can't be applied after the subscription is confirmed." Softr publishes no public code, and our Softr deals page tracks the offers that do exist.
- Trial. A first sign-up "starts a 7-day free trial with full access to the Business plan's premium features", and attaching a card extends it "for a total of a 14-day trial". If you cancel "before your trial expires, you won't be charged anything."
- Refunds. Softr refunds in full "within 14 days of your first payment on a monthly subscription" or "within 30 days of your first payment on a yearly subscription", by request to its support address.
- Cancelling and downgrading. "If you cancel mid-cycle, your subscription stays active until the end of the current billing period", and "When you downgrade, the change is scheduled for your next renewal."
Legacy Softr plans after the August 2026 change
Softr moved to the current team and client pricing on August 5, 2026. The announcement says pricing "now expands more gradually alongside your usage" and that "you no longer need to purchase additional user capacity in advance". For existing paying customers, the message was "Nothing changes": they keep their legacy plans, and a Softr staff reply in the same thread confirmed this for monthly subscribers too. Free workspaces could still subscribe to a legacy plan until "12:00 AM ET on August 20"; after that, new subscriptions are on the new plans only.
Two practical points if you are on a legacy plan. Many pricing guides written before August still quote the old tiers and user packs, so compare against the table above, not against an older article. And because a downgrade or plan change moves you onto current terms, run the numbers for your real headcount before you touch a legacy subscription.
Which Softr plan to choose
- Free if you are prototyping or running a tool for five people or fewer and do not need your own domain. Our free plan guide lists where it stops.
- Basic if one builder needs a custom domain for a tiny group: no more than 5 team and 5 client logins, ever, without upgrading.
- Pro for nearly every client portal and small-team tool: it is the first plan with user overage, branding removal and custom user groups, and it stays cheapest up to 50 team and 250 client users.
- Business when you pass Pro's user caps, need more than 500K records or 10K workflow actions a month, or need more user groups. Expect to pay at least $120 a month more than an equivalent Pro set-up.
- Enterprise for SSO, SCIM, audit logs, SOC 2 access, Snowflake or BigQuery, invoice billing, or more than 100 team or 500 client users.
If Softr's block-based approach is not what you want, our best AI app builders roundup compares it with prompt-to-app tools, and the AI app builders hub collects our other reviews; for a prompt-to-code alternative with credit-based billing, see Emergent pricing. If Softr fits, the low-risk route is to start a Softr trial (affiliate link), count your real team and client logins during the 14 days, and only then choose monthly or yearly billing.
Softr pricing FAQ
How much does Softr cost per month?
Basic is $19 a month billed yearly or $25 month to month, Pro is $99 or $119, and Business is $329 or $395. Free is $0 and Enterprise is quoted. On Pro and Business, extra team and client users add $1 to $5 each per month.
Does Softr charge per user?
Partly. Each plan has a flat fee that includes a set number of team and client users. Beyond that, Pro charges $3 per extra team user and $1 per extra client user, and Business $5 and $2, billed monthly. Free and Basic cannot add users.
What is the difference between team users and client users in Softr?
Softr sorts them by email domain. Users whose email shares a business domain with a workspace member are team users; everyone else, including anyone on Gmail, Outlook or another free email domain, is a client user.
Is Softr's Business plan worth it over Pro?
Only for its limits or features. On our arithmetic, Business costs at least $120 a month more than Pro for any headcount Pro can hold, so it pays off when you need more than 50 team or 250 client users, 1M records, 25K workflow actions a month or 10 user groups.
Can I get a refund from Softr?
Yes, a full refund within 14 days of a first monthly payment or 30 days of a first yearly payment. Mid-cycle drops in user count are not refunded.
Does Softr have a discount?
Softr gives 50% off to nonprofits and education organisations through an application form, and yearly billing saves about two months' fees. It does not publish a public promo code.
How we researched Softr pricing
On November 4, 2026, Saazora read Softr's pricing and plans documentation (updated October 30, 2026), its AI credits documentation (October 23, 2026) and workflows documentation (October 30, 2026), Softr's own blog post comparing Softr and Airtable pricing (updated August 7, 2026) for per-plan record, workflow action and AI credit limits, Softr's white-label portal page, and the official August 5, 2026 pricing announcement in the Softr community. On November 6, 2026, Saazora rendered Softr's pricing page in a browser, including its plan comparison and app-user calculator, and confirmed the plan prices, records, workflow actions, AI credits, user allowances, extra-user rates and caps, branding removal from Pro and the 50% non-profit and education discount. Pages were read through a tool that returns excerpts, and every quoted figure was copied from those excerpts. The five set-ups, the client-growth chart, the Pro-versus-Business gap and the yearly savings are Saazora's own arithmetic from Softr's published rates. Saazora did not buy a plan or build an app for this guide, and Softr did not review it. See how we review software.
