Hostinger AI Builder Review 2026: What Credits Really Build

Hostinger Horizons is now Hostinger AI Builder. We read Hostinger's pricing page and support docs to show what each plan includes, how the one-time AI credits work, what the code export leaves behind, and what one small site costs for a year next to Emergent and Lovable.

Hostinger AI Builder Review 2026: What Credits Really Build

Research-based review, not hands-on testing: Saazora did not buy a Hostinger plan or build a site for this article · Prices and plan terms read on Hostinger's AI Builder pricing pages and Hostinger support articles on October 31, 2026 · Emergent and Lovable figures from their own pages and documentation, same date · Prices in US dollars, before tax

This Hostinger AI Builder review comes down to one trade. Hostinger sells the cheapest way on this list to get an AI-built site online with hosting, a domain and email in the same bill: $119.52 up front for 48 months of the Premium plan, or $29.88 for each year of that term. What you do not get is a monthly AI allowance. The AI credits come as a one-time gift with the plan (250 on Premium, doubled to 500 under the Black Friday offer shown on October 31, 2026), Hostinger does not publish what a credit builds, and the price of extra credits is not on the pricing page. If you will build once and then mostly run the site, that is good value. If you expect to keep prompting every week, the credit meter, not the plan price, decides your bill.

Hostinger's AI app builder used to be sold as Hostinger Horizons. Since August 2026 it sits inside a product Hostinger calls Hostinger AI Builder, and the pricing has moved from monthly credit plans to credits bundled with hosting. This review explains what the product is called now, what each plan includes, how the credits behave, what you can export, the limits Hostinger states in its own support pages, and what one small site costs over 12 months next to Emergent and Lovable. If you are still choosing between tools of this type, our comparison of the best AI app builders covers eight of them by first-year cost.

What Hostinger AI Builder is now, and where the Horizons name went

In its August 24, 2026 product update post, Hostinger summarized the change in one line: "Website Builder and Horizons become AI Builder". The announcement dated August 18, 2026 says "AI Builder brings both into one broader platform", with two ways of working:

  • Agentic mode, the old Horizons experience. Hostinger describes it as "A fully conversational experience for building both websites and web apps": "In agentic mode the AI leads, creating and developing the project". This is the mode that uses AI credits, writes app logic and lets you export code.
  • Manual mode, the old drag-and-drop Website Builder. Hostinger says "manual mode gives them more granular control", meaning you move sections and edit elements yourself.

So if you search for a Hostinger Horizons review today, you will land on the same product. Hostinger's own pages still carry the old name in places: the URL hostinger.com/pricing/horizons now opens a page titled "Hostinger AI Builder pricing | Compare plans and features", Hostinger's UK pricing FAQ still mentions Hostinger Horizons, and a screenshot in the export guide is captioned "Horizons editor sidebar with the Export code button highlighted." Everywhere else, including the support articles updated on October 29, 2026, the product is Hostinger AI Builder. This review uses that name.

Hostinger AI Builder plans and prices on October 31, 2026

The AI Builder pricing page lists three plans, and all three are Hostinger hosting plans with AI Builder included. The only term shown on the page is 48 months, and "All plans are paid upfront. The monthly rate reflects the total plan price divided by the number of months in your plan."

PlanAdvertised rateYou pay todayRenews atAI credits (one-time)WebsitesMailboxes

From hostinger.com/pricing/horizons (titled "Hostinger AI Builder pricing"), checked October 31, 2026. "Prices are listed without VAT." All three plans list a custom domain free for 1 year and a 30-day money-back guarantee. "Unlimited features are subject to our Fair Usage Policy." Re-checked November 3, 2026 on hostinger.com/pricing/ai-builder: prices and credit offer unchanged; that page now labels the third plan "Ecommerce Startup" at the same price and credits, while Hostinger's other pricing pages still call it Cloud Startup.

Three details in that table matter more than the headline rate:

  • The rate needs a four-year prepayment. $2.49 is $119.52 divided by 48. The page we read showed no 12-month or monthly option, so if you only want one year, check the price in the cart before you assume $2.49 applies.
  • The renewal is about 4.4 times the first term on Premium. "Renews at $10.99/mo for the same term" means the next 48 months would cost $527.52 at that rate, against $119.52 for the first 48. More on that below.
  • The credit numbers come with a sale label. On October 31 the page read "Black Friday: Get 2x AI credits, 500 instead of 250". That is a promotion, so the base allowance is the smaller number.

Unlimited and Cloud Startup add priority support, and the comparison table marks ecommerce as "available at the checkout". Hostinger's August announcement describes Hostinger Ecommerce as "a separate subscription", so treat a store as a possible extra cost and confirm it in the cart. Hostinger's AI Builder referral page also says referred buyers "get an additional 20% discount for their first Hostinger AI Builder plan." The page does not say whether that stacks with the sale price, so the cost figures in this review leave it out.

How Hostinger's AI credits work

Credits are the part of Hostinger AI Builder pricing most worth understanding, because they work differently from the monthly allowances most AI app builders sell. Hostinger's pricing FAQ is direct about it: "AI credits are provided as a one-time allocation with your plan purchase and do not renew monthly." From Hostinger's support articles, all updated October 29, 2026, credits can reach your balance in four ways:

Where the credits come fromHow manyWhen they run out
Gift with the hosting plan250 on Single and Premium, 500 on Unlimited, 1,000 on Cloud and Agency"Unused hosting plan AI credits expire when the hosting plan expires."
7-day free trial"250 complimentary AI credits", agentic mode onlyThe trial lasts 7 days; "During the trial period, websites cannot be published." Trial credits are spent first.
Top-ups"Top-up options start at 500 AI credits.""Top-ups expire 3 months after purchase if unused." Price not shown on the pricing page.
An AI credit plan"a set number of AI credits""Credits reset monthly at the start of your next AI credit plan billing cycle." Price not shown on the pricing page.

From Hostinger support: "AI credits and top-ups in agentic mode", "AI credits: How the shared balance works" and "How to start a free trial", read October 31, 2026.

Hostinger AI Builder review diagram of AI credit sources: a one-time gift with the hosting plan that expires with the plan, 250 trial credits for 7 days without publishing, top-ups from 500 credits that expire after 3 months, and an AI credit plan that resets monthly, all in one balance shared with Hostinger Agent, Reach, AI Router and GPU instances
Where Hostinger AI Builder credits come from and when each kind expires, from Hostinger's pricing page and support articles read October 31, 2026. Diagram: Saazora. No company artwork used.

Four rules from the same articles change how far those credits go:

  1. One balance is shared across products. "One AI credit balance covers Hostinger AI Builder, Agent, Reach, AI Router, and GPU instances." If you also use Hostinger's email marketing or AI agent tools, they draw on the same credits as your site.
  2. Every message counts. "All messages are included in the calculation, including general inquiries and non-coding interactions." Asking the builder a question costs credits, not only asking it to build.
  3. Manual edits can cost credits too. Hostinger says small edits in Select & edit mode, such as replacing an image, "also deduct a small number of credits from your balance."
  4. Your app's own AI features use the same meter. If the site you build has an AI feature for visitors, its usage is charged to your balance. The usage view splits "Website creation & editing" from "AI features inside your app."

Two more things to know. First, Hostinger rescaled its credits: "Hostinger AI Builder amounts use a 50:1 scale, where 1 former credit equals 50 AI credits of the same value." A credit count in an older review or video is therefore not comparable with today's numbers. Second, one Hostinger page contradicts itself. On the AI Builder upgrade page we read on October 31, the answer to "Are AI credit limits based on daily or monthly usage?" is "Your AI credit limit refreshes monthly", while the plan FAQ a few lines below repeats that credits "do not renew monthly." The support articles appear to back the one-time reading for plan credits, with the monthly reset belonging to the separate AI credit plan. Ask Hostinger support before buying if this matters to your budget.

What does a credit actually build? What Hostinger tells you, and what it doesn't

Hostinger does not publish a cost per task. Its support article on dynamic credits says the system "calculates credit usage dynamically based on the computing resources and processing power required for your specific request." The pricing page offers one hint, "Simple generations can use less than 1 credit, and larger ones can use more", and the support article adds that "Simple, short questions generally consume fewer credits", while "heavy computation, deep analysis, or extensive code generation" uses more. A second article goes further: "The number of credits deducted varies between requests, even for requests of similar complexity."

That is less than some competitors publish. Lovable's pricing page, for comparison, lists example prompts with credit costs, from 0.50 credits for "Make the button gray" to 1.70 for "Build me a landing page, use images". Those are Lovable credits and do not convert to Hostinger's, but they show the kind of guidance Hostinger leaves out.

Hostinger does give you the tools to measure your own usage. Credits are tallied to two decimal places, you can hover over each response to see what it cost, and the "AI Credit Usage dashboard shows a breakdown of credits used for building and editing." The practical way to size a plan is therefore the trial:

  1. Start the 7-day trial and use its 250 credits on the project you actually want to build, not a demo.
  2. After each session, write down the credits used from the usage dashboard, split into first build and later edits.
  3. Estimate your monthly editing after launch, since that part keeps going after the one-time credits are spent.
  4. Compare that total with the plan gift (250, 500 or 1,000) and decide whether you will need top-ups.

The trial allowance is the same 250 credits as the Premium gift without the sale offer, so it shows roughly how far Premium's base allowance stretches for your kind of project. The limit is that trial sites cannot be published, so you cannot test traffic-driven AI features this way.

Hosting, domain and email: what comes in the plan

This is where Hostinger differs most from prompt-to-app tools. Hostinger's FAQ says "Hostinger AI Builder requires hosting to keep your website or web app live and accessible online", and that "hosting will be included with your Hostinger AI Builder purchase at no extra cost." If you already pay for Hostinger hosting, the FAQ says AI Builder is included and you do not buy it separately.

  • Hosting: included for the term. You do not spend credits to keep a site live, which is how Emergent charges for deployed apps.
  • Domain: "Custom domain - free for 1 year" on all three plans. The pricing page does not show the domain's renewal price for year two, so check it in the cart.
  • Email: "2 mailboxes per website - free for 1 year" on Premium, unlimited mailboxes per website on the other two, also for the first year.
  • Websites: "Create up to 3 websites" on Premium, unlimited on Unlimited and Cloud Startup.

For a small business that wants one site, a domain and a mailbox from one vendor, that bundle is the main reason to pick Hostinger. For current referral terms and deals in one place, see Saazora's Hostinger offers page. For what each hosting plan costs after the intro term, see our Hostinger pricing breakdown.

Code ownership and export: what leaves with you

Hostinger's pricing FAQ says "You fully own the code of your website or web app" and that "you can download the code whenever you need". According to the FAQ, download works on paid plans in agentic mode; a manual-mode site has to switch to agentic mode first. The export guide describes what you get:

  • "The exported code is a Node.js project built with React and Vite", downloaded as a .zip from the Code tab in the editor.
  • The export "only covers your project's frontend and logic files". It "does not include your integrated backend data", which "remains managed separately within Hostinger AI Builder."
  • Hostinger adds that "there is no way to import the edited version back to Hostinger AI Builder." Once you edit the code yourself, that copy stays outside the builder.
  • On running the export on Hostinger, the guide says you can "deploy Node.js applications directly to Business/Unlimited Web Hosting or Cloud hosting plans", while other shared hosting needs the project converted to static files first.
What Hostinger AI Builder code export includes and what stays behind: a Node.js project built with React and Vite with frontend and logic files leaves in a zip, while integrated backend data stays in Hostinger AI Builder, edited code cannot be imported back, and GitHub imports are not supported
What leaves with a Hostinger AI Builder export and what stays, from Hostinger's export guide and restricted-actions article, read October 31, 2026. Diagram: Saazora.

In plain terms: you own the code and can take the front end anywhere, but your app's stored data (users, records, form entries) does not come with it automatically. The restricted-actions guide adds that "You are unable to import your custom codes from 3rd party platforms like GitHub." Hostinger's export guide does not mention a GitHub sync, while Emergent and Lovable both advertise one. If you plan to hand the project to a developer later, that is the gap to weigh.

Limits Hostinger states in its own support pages

Hostinger's support article on possible and restricted actions in agentic mode is unusually frank. The points that most often decide whether the tool fits:

  • No native mobile apps. Hostinger says "we do not offer mobile app development for iOS or Android." Sites and web apps work in a phone browser, but there is nothing to submit to the App Store or Google Play.
  • No server access. "You are unable to use advanced hosting features, such as File Manager, FTP, PHP, SSH" for agentic-mode projects. The technical specifications page adds that "Hostinger AI Builder is not a file-based system".
  • Logins and payments take effort. Hostinger lists authentication and monetization as "challenging to prompt", and its FAQ recommends agentic mode over manual mode for payments and data processing, naming Stripe as a supported tool.
  • Databases can be external. Hostinger says the builder "has integrated backend capabilities" and can "integrate external cloud databases like Supabase or Firebase and custom APIs via prompts."
  • Complex sites may suit another platform. The same article points users with complex needs toward ready-made platforms such as WordPress.

None of these is unusual for an AI site builder, but the lack of FTP or SSH is worth noting because most people choose Hostinger for hosting. An agentic-mode project does not behave like a normal hosting account you can open up and edit by hand.

What one small site costs over 12 months

The useful question for a first project is what you pay to build one small site and keep it online for a year. The table below works that out from each vendor's own figures. For Hostinger it shows two numbers: the cash you hand over on day one, and the share of that prepayment that covers 12 months.

OptionPaid on day oneCost of 12 monthsAI credits over those 12 monthsHosting for a live siteDomain

Saazora calculation from Hostinger's AI Builder pricing page; Emergent's homepage, learn articles and deployment tutorial; and Lovable's subscription plans documentation, all read October 31, 2026. US dollars, before tax and VAT. Excludes credit top-ups (Hostinger does not show top-up prices on its pricing page), domain renewals, Hostinger Ecommerce and any referral discount. Credit counts are not comparable across vendors: each company sizes its credits differently.

Bar chart of the cost of one small site for 12 months: Hostinger Premium 29.88 dollars as a quarter of a 119.52 dollar 48-month prepayment, Hostinger Unlimited 41.88, Cloud Startup 95.88, Emergent Standard 204 annual or 240 monthly, Lovable Pro 250 annual or 300 monthly
12-month cost of one small site at list price, October 31, 2026, with Hostinger's day-one prepayment shown beside its 12-month share. Calculation and chart: Saazora, from each vendor's own pages. Excludes top-ups, tax and domain renewals.

Read the table in two ways. On price alone, Hostinger is far cheaper: even counting the whole Premium prepayment, $119.52 is less than half of a year of Emergent Standard paid monthly. On AI usage, the picture flips. Emergent and Lovable refill credits every month; Hostinger gives you one allowance for the whole term. A site you build in a weekend and then leave alone fits Hostinger's model well. A product you change every week will use up a one-time allowance, and then the top-up price, which we could not read on Hostinger's pricing page, becomes the real monthly cost.

Three edge cases change the numbers:

  • You already host with Hostinger. The FAQ says AI Builder is included with existing hosting, so your extra cost may be zero apart from credits.
  • Your site has AI features for visitors. Those draw on the same balance, so a chatbot on a busy site can use credits even when you are not editing.
  • You only want one year. The 48-month rate is the only one shown. A shorter term will cost more per month, and the 30-day money-back guarantee is the only exit from a four-year prepayment that Hostinger states on the pricing page. As of November 3, 2026 that page adds that it "applies to accounts with fewer than 1,500 AI credits used."

Disclosure: Hostinger links marked "referral link" use Saazora's referral link; Saazora may earn a reward if you buy through it, at no extra cost to you.

If the bundle fits your project, you can see Hostinger's AI Builder plans and current offer (referral link) and check the 48-month price, the credit offer and any referral discount in the cart before you pay.

After year four: the renewal term

Because the rate is a four-year prepayment, the renewal is easy to miss when you compare tools. Each plan "Renews at" a higher monthly rate "for the same term." At the renewal rates shown on October 31, 2026, the second 48-month term would cost:

PlanFirst 48 monthsNext 48 months at renewal rateEight-year totalAverage per month over 8 years
Premium$119.52$527.52 ($10.99 × 48)$647.04$6.74

Even at the renewal rate, Premium's $10.99 a month is below the entry plans of Emergent and Lovable. Put the renewal date in your calendar anyway, and remember that the plan's gift credits expire with the plan.

Hostinger AI Builder vs Emergent and Lovable at a glance

All three build a site or web app from a chat, but they charge for different things. In short:

Hostinger from its pricing page and support articles; Emergent from emergent.sh, its learn articles and deployment tutorial; Lovable from docs.lovable.dev/introduction/subscription-plans, all read October 31, 2026.

The short version: Hostinger is a website-and-hosting bundle with an AI builder inside, priced for people who want something live cheaply. Emergent and Lovable are AI development tools priced for people who keep building. For a full breakdown of Emergent's credits and live-app costs, see our Emergent pricing guide and Emergent review.

Who Hostinger AI Builder fits, and who should skip it

It fits if you:

  • need a business site, landing page, portfolio or simple web tool online with a domain and email, and want one bill for all of it;
  • will build mostly in one burst and then make occasional edits;
  • already pay for Hostinger hosting, since AI Builder is included;
  • are comfortable paying for four years up front to get the lowest rate, with 30 days to change your mind.

Skip it, or test hard first, if you:

  • need a native iOS or Android app;
  • want a GitHub workflow or plan to hand the code to developers who will keep working in it;
  • expect to prompt every week for months, since the plan's credits do not refill;
  • need FTP, SSH or PHP access to the project;
  • will run AI features for visitors at volume, because they draw on the same credit balance and top-up prices are not on the pricing page.

If you are in the first group, the cheapest test is the 7-day trial followed by Premium. Start with Hostinger AI Builder (referral link), then read your credit usage before deciding whether Unlimited's larger allowance is worth $48 more over the term.

Hostinger AI Builder review: common questions

Is Hostinger Horizons the same as Hostinger AI Builder?

Yes. Hostinger's August 24, 2026 product update says "Website Builder and Horizons become AI Builder". The old Horizons experience is now AI Builder's agentic mode, and the old drag-and-drop builder is its manual mode. Older Horizons plan names and credit counts no longer apply, and Hostinger now shows credits on a 50:1 scale.

Do Hostinger AI Builder credits renew every month?

Not on the hosting plans. The pricing FAQ says plan credits are "a one-time allocation" that "do not renew monthly", and support says they expire when the hosting plan expires. Credits from a separate AI credit plan reset monthly, and top-ups last three months.

Can I use Hostinger AI Builder for free?

There is a 7-day trial with "250 complimentary AI credits" in agentic mode, but "During the trial period, websites cannot be published." To put a site online you need a paid plan.

Can I move my Hostinger AI Builder site somewhere else?

You can download the code as a Node.js project built with React and Vite and host it elsewhere. Your integrated backend data is not in the export and stays in Hostinger AI Builder, and edited code cannot be imported back.

Is Hostinger AI Builder cheaper than Emergent or Lovable?

On list price, yes: Premium costs $119.52 for 48 months with hosting included, against $204 to $300 for a year of Emergent Standard or Lovable Pro. Emergent and Lovable refill credits monthly, though, so for heavy, ongoing building the comparison depends on Hostinger's top-up prices, which its pricing page does not show.

How we researched this review

On October 31, 2026 we read Hostinger's AI Builder pricing page (US and UK versions), its upgrade page, its AI Builder referral page and six Hostinger support articles on credits, the free trial, code export, technical specifications and restricted actions, most of them updated October 29, 2026. The product history comes from Hostinger's August 2026 announcement and product update posts. Hostinger's pages blocked direct downloads, so we read them through a page-reading tool that returns excerpts; every quoted figure was copied from those excerpts. We did not use third-party price lists. For Emergent, whose pricing page could not be read that way, figures come from Emergent's homepage, its own learn articles dated June and August 2026 and its deployment tutorial. Lovable figures come from its subscription plans documentation and pricing page. The 12-month, renewal and eight-year totals are Saazora's own arithmetic. Saazora did not buy a plan, build a site or measure credit usage for this review, and Hostinger did not review this article. See how we review software.
